Simmons has introduced a new replaceable mattress top.
For about $120, a hotel can replace just the topper of a mattress that has been damaged or permanently soiled.
This strikes me as one of the better ideas I have seen recently.

Frying the Bedbugs

Back when we started seeing this infestation of bedbugs about four years ago, the only way you could kill them was to actually heat the bedding to a very high temperature.   It was done out in the parking lot of the hotel in a big thing resembling a kiln.
